REP. JIL TRACY TO BE A MCCAIN DELEGATE AT THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION
9/23/2008
State Rep. Jil Tracy(R-93rd Dist.) of Mt. Sterling is looking forward to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. which begins Aug. 30th. Rep Tracy ran in the 18th Congressional District as a John McCain delegate. She was successful in her bid and will join fellow Republicans Congressman Ray LaHood of Peoria, Rep. Raymond Poe of Springfield, and Mayor Jim Ardis of Peoria. “I’ve never been to a National Convention before and I’m especially glad to be involved in one of this historical magnitude. I favored Sen. John McCain as the Republican Presidential Candidate from the beginning, but wasn’t sure how the early primaries would fall. I’m socially and fiscally conservative and I felt Sen. McCain holds the same principles and values that I support. It’s been encouraging for me to see that many other Americans agree with my beliefs which I feel are very family and faith based.” Tracy will be joined as a delegate by several other House colleagues and her husband Jim at the convention. “I believe Sen. McCain’s momentum will continue to grow all the way into the fall election and I’m proud to be part of his team,” said Tracy.
